ARCHITECT: HGA
CONTRACTOR: Turner Construction Company
The 225,000-square-foot biomedical research facility at 300 Binney Street in Cambridge, MA, has recently been renovated and expanded to support the Broad Institute’s research programs. The new space features Optima Freestanding Benches that come pre-wired and pre-plumbed, with two-tier shelving and silver-gray phenolic tops. You’ll also find Cambridge Series tables placed throughout the labs for added flexibility. To bring some depth and design to the space, plain sliced veneer casework and maple suspended cabinets were used. Pre-plumbed and pre-wired fume hoods were installed across the facility for safe experimentation and energy efficiency. Adjustable-height wall shelving in powder-coated steel accommodates plenty of storage throughout the lab. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to support the innovative research the Broad Institute is known for.
