ARCHITECT: Wilson Architects
CONTRACTOR: Bacon Construction
The University of Rhode Island’s new Center for Chemical and Forensic Sciences was built to multiply the amount of space available for teaching and research labs. These state-of-the-art laboratories will include white oak veneer overlay casework on painted steel bodied suspended cabinets attached to steel tables as well as island casework by New England Lab. Combination locks have been incorporated onto the painted steel fixed casework for students each semester. Custom vented glass enclosures allow technicians to carry out low risk procedures at their stations. Custom stainless steel tank restraints, flammable cabinets and flex carts were also provided for the project.
