Tufts University’s Science and Engineering Complex was designed to be connected to the pre-existing science, math and engineering buildings. This new facility will focus on collaboration between interdisciplinary research and house laboratories shared by the entire campus. The project included new construction as well as renovation of the attached building. New England Lab provided freestanding laboratory bench systems with rift cut White Oak mobile cabinets and Brightedge® LED Lighting integrated into the top shelf with the goal of fulfilling sustainable standards. Multiple fume hoods are equipped with an automatic sash operator which closes after the user leaves the work area reducing exhaust flow and energy consumption. Stainless Steel lockable wall, base and mobile cabinets were supplied throughout the vivarium, along with stainless steel work surfaces.
