ARCHITECT: Design Assistance by New England Lab
CONTRACTOR: Martin Construction
The college preparatory school for young women, The Academy at Penguin Hall, in Wenham, MA required adaptable furniture for two new science labs. Working closely with Penguin Hall, New England Lab assisted in designing the space to meet the school’s needs. To suit the lessons of the day, painted steel tables that are capable of being easily rearranged were provided. Fixed painted steel base cabinets with epoxy tops were utilized at perimeter walls to provide storage and additional counter top work area. A demonstration hood installed between the Chemistry Lab and the Prep Room allows the instructor controlled access to the chemicals and gives the students a full viewing experience for better learning. Plastic laminate cubbies, ADA faucets, safety stations and sinks were also supplied to support the next generation of female scientists.
