Creating collaboration between scientists, researchers and students, Chemours has built a new state-of-the-art facility on University of Delaware’s STAR campus in Newark, Delaware. Having the knowledge and ability to provide customized product, New England Lab was selected to supply the laboratory furniture and over 260 custom fume hoods. A majority of the hoods were tailored to meet the needs of the research being conducted. Combination bench and floor-mount hoods with an opening in between enable technicians to work with both large and small pieces of equipment and accessories when experimenting. Pre-plumbed manifolds were placed in several hoods to allow access to service controls while working inside. Floor-mounted fume hoods were equipped with a hoist mounted to the side to lift larger pieces of equipment in and out for testing. Additional accessories including local exhaust arms and solid stainless steel Metro shelving completed the project.
