ARCHITECT: Elkus Manfredi
CONTRACTOR: Consigli Construction Co.
The redevelopment of 705 Mount Auburn Street is a project by Spear Street Capital, designed to offer cutting-edge laboratory space in Watertown, Massachusetts. The laboratory’s layout is strategically crafted to foster collaboration among leading thinkers, enabling them to share insights and access essential resources for their research endeavors. The furniture includes fixed painted steel casework as well as movable Altus™ lab benches that provide three-tiered upper shelving and mobile cabinets for storage. These pre-wired and pre-plumbed benches are connected to overhead ceiling service panels, allowing for flexible future bench layout configurations. SafeGuard™ fume hoods, bench-mounted above acid and flammable cabinets to limit the distance of chemical transport, help reduce exposure to chemical fumes. This innovative project aligns with WELL’s mission to cultivate an environment conducive to innovation and collaboration within a state-of-the-art life science facility.
