ARCHITECT: BSA Life Structures
CONTRACTOR: Monteith Construction
Wake Tech Community College has developed new chemistry and biology preparation and instruction laboratories within the 118,000-square-foot General Education building located in Wendell, North Carolina. These new spaces are designed with state of the art furniture and equipment to enhance the associate degree programs in science and technology. The laboratories feature height-adjustable Cambridge tables made of painted steel with phenolic tops, complemented by color-coordinated cabinetry and wall shelving. To prioritize safety and ergonomics, the labs are equipped with RFV2 fume hoods, SterilGARD biosafety cabinets, and fume extractor arms. This allows students and faculty to conduct experiments with the safe removal of hazardous fumes, particles, and nonhazardous odors. Additionally, the space is outfitted with glassware washers, epoxy drop-in sinks, and stainless steel pegboards, ensuring a clean and sanitary working environment.
