Located at 4 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, this 250,000-square-foot facility within the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s BioPark campus, offers advanced laboratory space designed to foster research and innovation. New England Lab outfitted the fourth floor with high-quality, painted steel overlay casework and durable epoxy resin countertops. The lab benches include three-tier shelving, and Air, Vacuum, and Natural Gas service fixtures are located on integrated service turrets between the shelving uprights. Sitting height write-up desks were incorporated into the lab bench and provided with a tack surface divider panel for privacy and to reduce distractions while working. Sink stations feature stainless steel glassware drying racks, paper towel holders, and soap dispensers, and an epoxy undermount sink with a dished “marine edge” worktop. Glass markerboards and lab coat hooks were also provided throughout the lab. Pro Series fume hoods are equipped with flammable and corrosive specialty cabinets below to maintain safety and ease of access when handling harmful chemicals. Additional lab equipment provided includes stainless steel pass-thru cabinets, glassware washers, and autoclaves for sterilization, supporting a clean and efficient research environment. This new space enables collaboration among current researchers and is also designed with the intention of future expansion.
