ARCHITECT: Payette
CONTRACTOR: The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co.
The new 154,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art science center, Regents Hall, at Georgetown University houses the school’s biology, chemistry and physics departments. The building was constructed with three classrooms, twelve teaching labs, and three floors of research labs. The building was also designed to incorporate several green elements, including chilled beams, maximum daylight and views, native plants, a water reclamation system and renewable materials. For this project, New England Lab provided their wood casework in caramelized bamboo with edge grain, painted steel lab casework, stainless steel lab casework, Optima lab table systems, overhead service carriers and RFV2 high performance fume hoods. A full scale lab mock-up was also built off-site for the project team and end users to review the design and finishes prior to the lab furniture fabrication.
