TITLE: Director of Client Technical Support
Rand’s years of experience with lab furniture products and laboratory space planning allow him to provide valuable insight to clients as well as internal personnel. Rand’s primary focus includes product design & customization, spec writing & review, space planning assistance, and consulting for potential or awarded lab projects. As a member of New England Lab for 26+ years and current Director of the Technical Support Department, Rand maintains a library of the latest cutsheets, samples, CAD drawings, and construction codes to ensure smooth coordination and successful projects. Rand has worked in a variety of roles in his years with New England Lab and has experience from beginning to end of a construction project. He is well versed in internal processes allowing him to assist clients immediately. Rand also advises on Marketing efforts including the website, and conducts product training classes for all new employees. Prior to his service at New England Lab, he spent three years with a plywood distributor, becoming an expert in wood veneers.
Rand’s specialized training includes the HPVA “Hardwood Plywood Veneer Grading Workshop”, as well as “HVAC Systems and Laboratory Design” and “Safety Cabinet Technology” at the Eagleson Institute.
When Rand is not spending time with his wife and three daughters, (his favorite activity) he is an avid photographer and has photographed over 85 U.S. National Parks and Historic Sites, as well as some Canadian, Italian, and Tanzanian nationally preserved sites. Rand also enjoys bass fishing, drawing, painting, and volunteering at his local church in a variety of roles.
