TITLE: Director of Client Technical Support
With almost 30 years at New England Lab, Rand brings a wealth of expertise in lab furniture products and laboratory space planning. As Director of Client Technical Support, he plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects by supporting both internal and external teams with reliable, experience-based product solutions.
Rand provides photos, technical details, and practical advice rooted in a deep understanding of lab furniture systems. He’s known for offering clear, honest input—often outlining both the advantages and drawbacks of a solution—so clients can make confident, well-informed decisions.
His responsibilities include product design and customization, specification writing and review, and space planning support. He also serves as a resource for consulting on both potential and active lab projects, helping teams align technical details with project goals.
When he is not consulting or designing, Rand also contributes to marketing initiatives, including taking photographs for the company website, supporting the IT department, and leading product training for new employees. Before joining New England Lab, Rand spent three years with a plywood distributor, where he developed expertise in wood veneers.
Outside of work, Rand enjoys time with his wife and three daughters. He’s an avid photographer who has documented over 85 U.S. National Parks and Historic Sites, along with national preserves in Canada, Italy, and Tanzania. He also enjoys bass fishing, sketching, watercolor painting, and volunteering at his local church.
